Best Electricians in Willis, TX (Ranked 2026)
Last updated: October 2, 2026
Finding an electrician around Willis is easy. Figuring out which one has the licensing, review history and track record to earn your business takes more work.
Best In MoCo analyzed 10 electricians serving the Willis area and narrowed the field to three finalists. We compared licensing, review evidence, business history, local and service evidence, and each company's MoCoScore.
Our 2026 ranking:
- Roa Electrical Services, 83.2
- Elijah Services Electrical, 80.0
- Cooper Electric, 77.2
Roa Electrical Services ranks first with the strongest satisfaction evidence in our research. Elijah Services Electrical follows closely as the newest finalist. Cooper Electric brings the longest business track record of the three, but it also had the smallest Google review base in our research.
One important detail: None of the three finalists is headquartered in Willis. Roa is based in Pinehurst, Elijah is in Conroe and Cooper is in Montgomery. This is a ranking of electricians serving Willis, Texas, not a ranking limited to companies with Willis offices.
Best In MoCo did not hire or test these electricians firsthand. The ranking is based on the research described below.

Research Method
Best In MoCo screened candidate electricians, analyzed 10 eligible finalists including 168 Google reviews newest-first across the three finalists, verified Texas electrical contractor license records through TDLR, and calculated rankings using the MoCoScore methodology. Rankings reflect Best In MoCo's evaluation methodology and available public information as of October 2, 2026, and are not endorsements or guarantees. Eligible means: serves the Willis area, verifiable active Texas electrical contractor license, an actual electrical contractor (not a supply distributor), not a satellite or duplicate listing, no hostile review patterns, and not already published on another Best In MoCo city page.Only six points separate first place from third. That matters. This is not a list where No. 1 ran away from the field.
Instead, each finalist has a different evidence profile. Roa led on satisfaction evidence. Elijah combined strong recent review activity with a newer business history. Cooper brought the longest track record but substantially fewer Google reviews.
How Best In MoCo Researched and Ranked Electricians Serving Willis
Fact Checked: October 2, 2026 · License Records Verified: October 2, 2026
We started with 10 electricians serving the Willis area. Three made the final ranking.
Each business moved through the same research process:
Discovered → Identity verified → Willis service relevance checked → TDLR license checked → Reviews analyzed → MoCoScore calculated → Top three published
Our research drew from Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation records, Google review data, Better Business Bureau profiles, company websites and the Best In MoCo MoCoScore.
We also looked at recurring review themes rather than relying on star ratings alone. The feedback in our research repeatedly touched on professional work, clear explanations, promptness and thorough diagnosis.
That process matters because a 5.0 rating by itself does not tell the whole story. Review volume, recency, business history, licensing and the nature of the feedback all add context.
Want the whole county instead of one city? The full Montgomery County electricians ranking applies the same evaluation to every eligible electrician we researched countywide. We have also published separate rankings for Conroe, The Woodlands, Magnolia, and Montgomery.
How the MoCoScore Works
The MoCoScore is Best In MoCo's 100-point scoring system. It compares businesses across nine categories:
| Category | Points |
|---|---|
| Satisfaction | 20 |
| Confidence | 15 |
| Sentiment | 15 |
| Consistency | 10 |
| Longevity | 10 |
| Recency | 10 |
| Complaint/Risk | 10 |
| Local Presence | 5 |
| Verification | 5 |
| Total | 100 |
The score gives us a consistent way to compare different evidence profiles. It does not mean we personally tested the electrical work.
That distinction is important. A company can have a perfect Google rating and still rank below another company once review volume, longevity, recency and the other scoring categories enter the picture.
1. Roa Electrical Services, No. 1 Overall MoCoScore
#1MoCoScore: 83.2/100
Roa Electrical Services takes the No. 1 spot because it had the strongest satisfaction evidence among the finalists.
At the time of our research, Roa had a 5.0 Google rating across 84 reviews. It earned 20 out of 20 points for Satisfaction, with zero negative review topics in the research used for this ranking.
Roa is based in Pinehurst, not Willis, but Willis is included in its service area.
Its business history in our scoring data is eight years. Texas licensing records show electrical contractor license EC33566 as Active, with an expiration date of May 4, 2027. The associated master electrician is Roberto Abel Roa, license 380716.
The BBB profile for Roa Electrical Services is Not Rated.
What Roa lists
Roa's company website lists: Electrical troubleshooting, Panel upgrades, EV charger installation, Dedicated circuits, Surge protection, Ceiling fans, Outlets, LED retrofits, Lighting, Rewiring.
For a Willis homeowner, that gives Roa documented service evidence across several common residential electrical jobs.
Why Roa ranked first
The difference was not simply its 5.0 rating. Cooper also had a 5.0 Google snapshot.
Roa paired that rating with 84 reviews, compared with Cooper's 14, and produced the strongest satisfaction evidence in our scoring. Its 20/20 Satisfaction result and zero negative review topics helped push it to an 83.2 MoCoScore.
2. Elijah Services Electrical, Strong Recency
#2MoCoScore: 80.0/100
Elijah Services Electrical finished just 3.2 points behind Roa.
It had a 4.9 Google rating across 70 reviews in our research, with the newest review dated Sept. 22, 2026. That recent activity helped distinguish Elijah's evidence profile.
Elijah is based in Conroe and is the newest finalist in this ranking.
There are two dates worth separating here. Texas licensing records show electrical contractor license EC39122 was issued May 3, 2024. That makes the contractor license about two years old as of our research date. BBB, however, reports that the company started June 20, 2023, making the business itself about three years old.
Those figures measure different things. We do not treat the age of the TDLR contractor license as the company's full time in business.
TDLR lists EC39122 as Active with an expiration date of May 3, 2027. The associated master electrician is Travis Joseph Magruder, license 661788.
Elijah's BBB profile carries an A+ rating and accreditation.
What Elijah lists
The service evidence used in our research includes: Wiring, Electrical panels, EV chargers, Lighting, Generators.
For Willis homeowners thinking about backup power, the generator listing is especially relevant when comparing the finalists.
Why Elijah ranked second
Elijah's 80.0 MoCoScore put it close to the top spot. Its Google snapshot combined a 4.9 rating with 70 reviews, and its newest review in our research was from Sept. 22, 2026.
The tradeoff is history. Elijah is the newest of the three finalists, with BBB reporting a June 20, 2023, company start date.
That does not make it a two-year-old business. The roughly two-year figure applies to the age of its TDLR contractor license at the time of research.
3. Cooper Electric, Longest Track Record
#3MoCoScore: 77.2/100
Cooper Electric has the longest track record of the three finalists.
It also had a 5.0 Google rating, matching Roa's rating, but across a much smaller review base of 14 reviews.
Cooper is based in Montgomery. Its website lists service in the Lake Conroe, The Woodlands, Montgomery and Spring areas.
Texas records show electrical contractor license EC22187 as Active, with an expiration date of May 31, 2027. The original EC issue date is May 9, 2005. The associated master electrician is Delbert L. Cooper, license 88727.
Why you'll see two longevity figures
Our scoring dataset used 21 years for Cooper's business history. We kept that figure in the scoring rather than changing an input after the ranking was calculated.
During quality review, however, we confirmed Cooper Electric's exact BBB profile. BBB identifies Delbert Cooper as the owner and reports a business start date of Aug. 17, 2001, or 25 years as of our Oct. 2, 2026, research date. The BBB profile is Not Rated.
So both figures appear on this page for different reasons: 21 years is the figure used in the scoring dataset that produced Cooper's 77.2 MoCoScore. 25 years is the business history reported by BBB.
We are disclosing the difference rather than silently changing the scoring data after the fact.
What Cooper lists
Cooper's website lists: Residential electrical work, Commercial electrical work, Emergency service calls, Light fixture work, New-building electrical installation.
That emergency-call evidence gives Willis homeowners another point to compare when planning for electrical problems that may not happen during normal business hours.
Why Cooper ranked third
Cooper's long history and 5.0 Google snapshot are strengths in the research. The key difference is review volume.
Its 14 Google reviews made for a smaller review evidence base than Roa's 84 or Elijah's 70. Once the full MoCoScore was applied, Cooper finished at 77.2.

Which Electrician Fits the Work?
A higher overall MoCoScore does not automatically make one electrician the right fit for every job. Start with whether the company actually lists the type of work you need.
Based only on the service evidence used for this ranking:
| Service | Roa Electrical Services | Elijah Services Electrical | Cooper Electric |
|---|---|---|---|
| Troubleshooting | Listed | Not established | Not established |
| Ceiling fans | Listed | Not established | Not established |
| Outlet/switch work | Listed | Not established | Not established |
| New wiring | Not established | Listed | Listed for new-building installation |
| Lighting/LED | Listed | Listed | Listed for light fixtures |
| Surge protection | Listed | Not established | Not established |
| Panels | Listed | Listed | Not established |
| EV chargers | Listed | Listed | Not established |
| Generators | Not established | Listed | Not established |
| Emergency service | Not established | Not established | Listed |
"Not established" does not mean the electrician cannot do the work. It means the evidence in this ranking did not establish that service. Ask the company directly before assuming a job is outside its scope.
That distinction is especially useful for specialized work around Willis and Lake Conroe.
Electrical Issues Willis Homeowners Mentioned
The electrical needs around Willis are not limited to one type of job. Our research surfaced several practical areas homeowners may want to ask about when comparing electricians.
Ceiling fans
Ceiling fan work is directly listed by Roa. If that is your project, you have a documented service match to start with.
For the other finalists, confirm the scope directly rather than assuming fan installation is included under broader electrical services.
Outlets, wiring and new wiring
Roa lists outlet work and rewiring. Elijah lists wiring. Cooper lists full electrical installation for new buildings.
The exact job matters here. Replacing an outlet, addressing existing wiring and wiring a new structure are not the same scope. Tell the electrician what you are dealing with before comparing quotes.
Surge protection and LED work
Roa lists surge protection and LED retrofits among its services.
If either is a priority, ask what equipment and installation scope the quote includes. Do not compare two prices until you know whether the proposed work is actually the same.
Boat-lift electrical work
Boat lifts deserve a separate question in the Willis and Lake Conroe area.
Our finalist research does not establish boat-lift electrical service for any of the three companies. We therefore do not attribute that specialty to Roa, Elijah or Cooper.
If you need boat-lift electrical work, ask directly whether the electrician handles that scope before scheduling.
Generators and storm-outage readiness
Backup power creates the clearest service difference among the finalists in the evidence we reviewed.
Elijah's BBB service information lists generators. Cooper advertises emergency service calls. Those are not the same service. Generator work concerns backup-power equipment, while an emergency service call concerns availability for an electrical problem.
If storm and outage readiness is your priority, ask specifically what the company handles rather than treating "emergency" and "generator" as interchangeable.
How to Choose an Electrician in Willis
The ranking can narrow your list. The next step is making sure the electrician fits your address and your actual job.
Before hiring, check:
- Project fit. Ask whether the company regularly handles the specific work you need.
- Your Willis address. Confirm the electrician serves your exact location before scheduling.
- TDLR status. Recheck the contractor license before work begins.
- Business identity. Make sure the company name, license and person or entity you are hiring match.
- Recent feedback. Look beyond the average star rating and read the current review pattern.
- Written scope and price. Get clear on what work is included before comparing quotes.
- Materials. Ask what equipment or materials the quote includes.
- Warranty. Ask what warranty, if any, applies to the work and materials.
- Scheduling. Confirm when the work can start and how long the expected job will take.
- Emergency availability. If that matters to you, ask what counts as an emergency call and when service is available.
- Travel charges. Because none of our finalists is headquartered in Willis, ask whether your address carries a travel or service-area charge.
- Boat-lift scope. For Lake Conroe-related work, confirm boat-lift experience and scope directly rather than assuming general electrical service covers it.
The cheapest estimate is not automatically the best comparison. Compare scope, not just price.
How to Verify a Texas Electrical Contractor License
Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation records give homeowners a direct way to check contractor-license information.
For the three finalists, our Oct. 2, 2026, research found:
| Electrician | TDLR contractor license | Status | Expiration | Associated master electrician |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Roa Electrical Services | EC33566 | Active | May 4, 2027 | Roberto Abel Roa, 380716 |
| Elijah Services Electrical | EC39122 | Active | May 3, 2027 | Travis Joseph Magruder, 661788 |
| Cooper Electric | EC22187 | Active | May 31, 2027 | Delbert L. Cooper, 88727 |
Elijah's contractor license was issued May 3, 2024. Cooper's original EC issue date was May 9, 2005.
License status can change. Do not rely on a directory page forever. Recheck the TDLR record before hiring.

What the Review Research Tells Us
Star ratings are useful. They are not enough on their own.
Roa and Cooper both had 5.0 Google snapshots in our research, but Roa had 84 reviews while Cooper had 14. Elijah sat between them on volume with 70 reviews and carried a 4.9 rating.
That is why the ranking does not simply sort companies by stars.
The review evidence we analyzed also showed what customers tended to value. Recurring themes included: Professional work, Clear explanations, Thorough diagnosis, Promptness.
Those themes are useful when reading reviews for your own job. Look for feedback that resembles the work you need, not just praise in general.
A review about diagnosis may be more useful when you have an unexplained electrical problem. Feedback tied to a particular type of installation may matter more when you already know exactly what work you need.
Volume adds confidence, but job relevance adds context.
Understanding the MoCoScores
The MoCoScore is a research comparison, not a guarantee of what will happen at your house.
The final scores were: Roa Electrical Services: 83.2, Elijah Services Electrical: 80.0, Cooper Electric: 77.2.
The six-point spread from first to third reflects three different evidence profiles.
Roa led with the strongest satisfaction evidence, including a 20/20 Satisfaction score and zero negative review topics in the research.
Elijah finished close behind with strong recent review activity and is the newest finalist.
Cooper brought the longest business track record but the smallest Google review base of the three.
The scores help organize the evidence consistently. They do not prove that No. 1 will be the right electrician for every Willis homeowner or every electrical job.
Use the ranking to build your shortlist. Then compare service fit, availability and scope for your specific project.
FAQs About Electricians Serving Willis, TX
Who ranked No. 1 among electricians serving Willis?
Roa Electrical Services ranked first with a MoCoScore of 83.2/100. Its strongest distinction was satisfaction evidence, including a 20/20 Satisfaction score and zero negative review topics in the research used for this ranking.
Why did Roa rank above Cooper if both had a 5.0 Google rating?
Review ratings were only one part of the ranking. Roa's Google snapshot included 84 reviews, while Cooper's included 14. The MoCoScore also considers satisfaction, confidence, sentiment, consistency, longevity, recency, complaint/risk, local presence and verification. After all nine categories were scored, Roa finished at 83.2 and Cooper at 77.2.
Which finalist had the most recent review activity?
Elijah Services Electrical. The newest review in our research was dated Sept. 22, 2026.
Which finalist has the longest track record?
Cooper Electric. There is an important data note behind that answer. The dataset used to calculate the ranking gave Cooper 21 years of business history. During quality review, we confirmed Cooper's exact BBB profile, which reports a business start date of Aug. 17, 2001, or 25 years as of the Oct. 2, 2026, research date. We retained the 21-year figure as the scoring input and disclose the BBB figure separately rather than changing the score after the fact.
Is Elijah Services Electrical only two years old?
No. The roughly two-year figure applies to its TDLR electrical contractor license, which was issued May 3, 2024. BBB reports that the company started June 20, 2023, making the business about three years old as of our research date. Elijah is still the newest finalist, but company age and contractor-license age are not the same thing.
Do all three finalists have active Texas electrical contractor licenses?
Yes, according to the TDLR records checked for this ranking. Roa's EC33566, Elijah's EC39122 and Cooper's EC22187 were all listed as Active in our research. Because license status can change, check the current TDLR record again before hiring.
Which finalist should I look at for generator or storm preparation?
The evidence used in this ranking establishes generator services for Elijah Services Electrical. Cooper Electric advertises emergency service calls. Those services solve different problems, so tell the electrician what you need. If you are preparing for outages, ask specifically about generator work, backup-power scope and emergency availability instead of assuming one includes the other.
Do any of these electricians advertise boat-lift electrical work?
Our research for this ranking did not establish boat-lift electrical service for any of the three finalists. That does not mean they cannot perform the work. It means we do not have enough evidence in this research to claim that they do. Willis and Lake Conroe homeowners with boat-lift projects should ask directly before scheduling.
Which finalist lists ceiling fan work?
Roa Electrical Services lists ceiling fan service.
Are any of the finalists based in Willis?
No. Roa Electrical Services is based in Pinehurst, Elijah Services Electrical is in Conroe and Cooper Electric is in Montgomery. This page ranks electricians serving Willis, not only electricians headquartered inside Willis.
Did Best In MoCo personally hire or test these electricians?
No. Best In MoCo did not hire or test the finalists firsthand. The ranking is based on the licensing, review, business-history, local/service and verification evidence described in our methodology.
