License and Legitimacy: Is Crossroad Electric Legit?

The license record needs a careful read, so here it is in full. Crossroad Electric holds Texas electrical contractor license EC-36709, issued to CROSSROAD ELECTRIC, LLC, status Active, expiring March 6, 2027. The license was originally issued December 28, 2021. Best In MoCo verified this by direct lookup in TDLR's LicenseSearch on October 12, 2026. An Active contractor license means the company is authorized to perform electrical contracting work in Texas.

There is one important qualification on that same record. The master electrician of record is DELAPLANE, MICHAEL G, license 329112, which expired October 1, 2026. TDLR's record states that, according to its records, this electrical contractor does not have a current master electrician license assigned, and that an electrical contractor cannot perform electrical work or electrical contracting if its master electrician's license is expired, revoked, or is not on record with the department. That warning comes from TDLR itself, not from Best In MoCo. It is stated here as a fact for the reader to weigh: the contractor license is Active, but the master of record listed on it expired eleven days before this lookup.

One related discrepancy, also stated as a plain fact. The company's own website presents owner Glen as the master electrician, with a photo captioned identifying Annie and Master Electrician Glen as the owners. The TDLR record names Delaplane, Michael G. as the master of record. Both statements are reproduced here as they appear in their sources; Best In MoCo cannot reconcile them from the records available.

Texas requires an electrical contractor to have a master electrician of record with a current license. Before hiring Crossroad Electric, or any contractor, verify both the contractor license and the master electrician's license yourself at tdlr.texas.gov, and confirm the master license is current at the time of your project.

What Crossroad Electric Does

The following comes only from the company's own website, crossroadelectric.com, which Best In MoCo confirmed live on October 12, 2026. The homepage presents seven service areas: electrical repair (troubleshooting for tripping breakers, buzzing panels, and power loss), panel and breaker upgrades, EV charger installation (Level 2 setups for Tesla, Rivian, and other brands), generators and surge protection, lighting and fans, electrical inspections, and smart home automation. The company describes itself as a residential-focused electrical contractor and offers financing through Wisetack with rates from 0% APR.

The stated service area is North Houston, The Woodlands, Spring, Tomball, Magnolia, and Conroe. The Oak Ridge North ranking covers electricians serving the Oak Ridge North area, and the company's Yelp profile lists Oak Ridge North among its service locations. None of the three published Oak Ridge North finalists is based inside Oak Ridge North city limits; Oak Ridge North is a small city, and most contractors serving it operate from nearby towns. Oak Ridge North homeowners should confirm coverage for their address when they call.

What the Review Data Shows

Google carries the review analysis for Crossroad Electric: a perfect 5.0 stars across 340 reviews at research time, the largest review base of the three Oak Ridge North finalists. Eighteen reviews were pulled for scoring, averaging 5.0, with 16 of the 18 posted in the last 90 days, which is the strongest recent-review flow of the three finalists.

Review topics were counted across the research, 68 mentions in total, all positive:

Two data patterns stand out. First, the value signal: fair pricing leads with 23 of the 68 mentions, the single strongest topic for any Oak Ridge North finalist. That reads as a shop customers call when cost matters and they want the price stated plainly, which lines up with the flat-rate, no-hidden-fees positioning on the company site. Second, the generator cluster: portable generator and generator installation together account for 16 mentions, and an independent dealer directory lists Crossroad Electric, LLC as an authorized Generac dealer in Magnolia. The knowledge cluster (knowledgeable technicians plus knowledgeable electrician, 16 mentions combined) rounds out a profile of a shop customers describe as both affordable and competent. These are aggregate mention counts from the reviews analyzed, not individual review quotes.

The sentiment scoring on the review data produced the Attribute Sentiment score of 11.9 out of 15, and Customer Satisfaction scored a full 20 out of 20 on the 5.0-star Google rating.

Yelp carries a much thinner record: 4.0 stars across 4 reviews, on a page the owner has claimed. With only four reviews, the Yelp rating carries little weight next to the 340-review Google base.

BBB Record

Best In MoCo found no BBB profile for Crossroad Electric of Magnolia. A BBB search on October 12, 2026 surfaced only a “Cross Roads Electric” profile in Big Spring, Texas, which is a different business and is not used anywhere in this guide. The absence of a BBB profile is not a violation and says nothing about the quality of the work; some legitimate small businesses simply do not have BBB profiles. Nothing further can be stated from BBB records.

Company Background

Crossroad Electric is a woman-owned, family-operated company based in Magnolia, Texas, run by Glen and Annie according to the company site. The site credits Glen with 31 years of electrical experience and claims more than 300 five-star Google reviews. The Yelp profile, claimed by the owner, lists a year established of 2021, which lines up with the December 28, 2021 original issue date on the TDLR license. The company publishes its license as TECL #36709 on its site footer, matching the TDLR record.

A few record details differ across sources and are stated here as plain facts. The address appears as 28030 FM2978 Suite 106 on the Google listing, 27011 Hidden Rock Ct on the TDLR record, and 28543 FM2978 Unit K10 on the Yelp profile. The phone appears as (281) 455-7931 on the company site, Google, and Yelp, and as (346) 443-1477 on the TDLR record. The company is open Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, per its site. Its email is office@crossroadelectric.com. Nothing here goes beyond what the records and the company's own site state.

Best Fit

Crossroad Electric may be worth considering if you are a homeowner in the Magnolia, The Woodlands, or North Houston area looking for fairly priced residential electrical work, generator installation, EV charger installation, or panel upgrades from a small family-operated shop with a strong recent-review record. The fair-pricing and generator-installation pattern in the review data suits customers who want the cost stated up front and the work explained clearly. Two reminders before you call: confirm Oak Ridge North coverage for your address, since the company is based in Magnolia, and recheck the master electrician's license status yourself at tdlr.texas.gov given the October 1, 2026 expiry on the current record.

How Crossroad Compares in Oak Ridge North

Best In MoCo scored the Oak Ridge North-area pool. The three published finalists are Dempsey Family Electric of Texas at 90.7, Crossroad Electric at 85.0, and Abacus Plumbing, Air Conditioning & Electrical at 79.8. Crossroad sits 5.7 points behind Dempsey and 5.2 points ahead of Abacus.

Crossroad's differentiators start with its review record. At 5.0 stars across 340 reviews, it holds the highest rating and the largest review base of the three finalists, and Customer Satisfaction scored a full 20 out of 20. Review Confidence scored 14.1 out of 15, the highest of the three, and Recency scored a perfect 10 with 16 of 18 pulled reviews in the last 90 days. Consistency and Complaint/Risk each scored a perfect 10, and the company site, TDLR record, and review profiles line up on the business identity.

The gap to a higher score sits in longevity, sentiment, and local presence. Longevity scored 2 out of 10, reflecting the 2021 founding against older competitors; this is the scored cost of being a young company, not a quality finding. Attribute Sentiment scored 11.9 out of 15. Local Presence scored 2 out of 5, reflecting the Magnolia base serving the Oak Ridge North area. Professional Verification scored a full 5 out of 5 on the direct TDLR lookup confirming EC-36709. And the third-party footprint is Google plus a thin Yelp page, with no BBB profile found. Everything else scored at or near the top of its scale.

The Bottom Line

Crossroad Electric earned an 85.0 MoCoScore on a perfect 5.0-star Google rating across 340 reviews, an Active Texas contractor license directly verified through March 2027, and a review record led by fair pricing and generator work from a woman-owned family shop. It looks like a strong fit for homeowners in the Magnolia, The Woodlands, or North Houston area who want fairly priced residential electrical work, generator installation, or EV charger installation with costs stated up front. Two reminders before you hire: the master electrician of record on the TDLR license expired October 1, 2026, and TDLR's own record flags the missing current master license, so verify the license status yourself before signing anything; and the company is based in Magnolia, so confirm Oak Ridge North coverage for your address when you call.
