License and Legitimacy: Is MK Electric Legit?
Yes, by the records. MK Electric holds Texas electrical contractor license EC-30717, issued to MK ELECTRIC LLC, status Active, expiring March 4, 2027. The license was originally issued January 30, 2015. The master electrician of record is Sullivan, William P (license 8949, expiring March 29, 2027). Best In MoCo verified this by direct lookup in TDLR's LicenseSearch on October 12, 2026. An Active status means the company is legally authorized to perform electrical work in Texas.
Four record details are worth knowing before you hire, stated here as plain facts. First, the Google business listing carries no street address, so the address shown here comes from the TDLR record: 23356 Quiet Hollow Rd, Montgomery, TX 77356. A missing street address on a listing is common for small service companies and says nothing about the quality of the work on its own.
Second, no BBB profile exists for MK Electric. A fresh BBB search on October 12, 2026 returned only unrelated same-named companies in other states. Not every business has a BBB profile, and the absence of one is not a violation. It means there is no BBB rating or complaint history to check, which is itself useful information when you are doing your homework.
Third, no Yelp listing exists for the company either. That makes Google the only public review footprint, which is worth knowing because it removes a second source you might otherwise cross-check.
Fourth, the company states over 31 years of residential electrical experience on its own site, while the current TDLR license was originally issued January 30, 2015. These are the records as they stand; the difference may reflect years worked under a different license or company name, but that is not something the records confirm. None of these details is a violation.
As with any contractor, TDLR records change over time. Recheck the license yourself before hiring.

What the Review Data Shows
Best In MoCo pulled the 18 newest Google reviews for MK Electric. All 18 are 5 stars, for a pulled average of 5.0. The full Google footprint is 62 reviews at a 4.8-star average. The newest pulled review is dated September 30, 2026 and the oldest July 9, 2024. Six of the pulled reviews fall inside the last 90 days and twelve inside the last year, which is why Review Recency scored a full 10 out of 10.
Sentiment analysis on the pulled reviews found 41 positive markers against 7 negative markers, a net of +34. That ratio drove Attribute Sentiment to 13.5 out of 15. Review topics were counted across the pull, 38 mentions in total:
| Topic | Mentions |
|---|---|
| Efficiency | 9 |
| Punctuality | 7 |
| Quick response | 5 |
| Electrical issues | 5 |
| Honest electrician | 2 |
| Power restoration | 2 |
| Friendly family business | 2 |
| Customer courtesy | 2 |
| Outlet installation | 2 |
| Easy to deal with | 2 |
Three patterns stand out in these MK Electric reviews. First, speed dominates. Efficiency (9), punctuality (7), and quick response (5) together account for more than half of all MK Electric review-topic mentions. That concentration describes a company customers experience as fast and on schedule, and it is the clearest signal in MK Electric's data.
Second, the trust pairing matches the company's own framing. "Honest electrician" (2) and "friendly family business" (2) line up with the family language on the company's site, which says it treats customers like family. For homeowners who value straightforward dealing, that pairing is practical information.
Third, power restoration (2) lines up with the troubleshooting and power restoration work named in the rankings research. It is a small count, but it matches the advertised work rather than contradicting it.
Because no Yelp listing exists, Google is the review footprint used for scoring, and it is the only public review source available.
BBB Record
No BBB profile was found for MK Electric. A fresh search on October 12, 2026 surfaced only unrelated same-named companies in Frisco, Texas and several other states, none of which is this company. This is worth stating plainly because it cuts both ways for a researcher: there is no BBB rating to lean on, but there is also no complaint history on file. Some established local companies simply never created a BBB profile. The absence of one is not a violation, and it says nothing about the quality of the work on its own.
