License and Legitimacy: Is NS ELECTRICAL Legit?
Yes, by every verifiable measure Best In MoCo checked. NS ELECTRICAL holds Texas electrical contractor license TECL-38286, issued to NS ELECTRICAL, LLC, with a status of Active and an expiration date of 08/23/2027. The master electrician on record is SCHOD, NATHAN W #559001 (exp 12/16/2026). An Active TDLR electrical contractor license means the company is legally authorized to perform electrical work in the state of Texas.
For a homeowner doing a gut check, the scam question is really a paperwork question: does a real, licensed company stand behind the name? Here the paperwork checks out. The TDLR license is Active and was verified directly in the state's LicenseSearch. The Google listing shows 4.8 stars across 24 reviews. Nothing in the license record or the review aggregates indicates a scam operation.
One honest caveat applies to every license check on this site: TDLR records change, so recheck the current status with TDLR before hiring any electrician.
What NS ELECTRICAL Does
NS ELECTRICAL is a family-owned electrical contractor based in Conroe, Texas, with about 17 years in business. Its clearest specialty is backup power: the company is a certified dealer for both Generac and Kohler generators. That dual certification is uncommon among small local shops and is the main thing that separates NS from generalist electricians.
Beyond generators, the following services come directly from the company's own site:
- Backup power generators, including installation as a certified Generac and Kohler dealer
- Electrical panels and panel upgrades
- EV chargers
- Lighting
- Commercial electrical work
NS ELECTRICAL is based in Conroe, not in Panorama Village itself. It won the Panorama Village ranking because it serves the area — Best In MoCo ranks on service-area accuracy, not on where the shop sits.
What the Review Data Shows
Best In MoCo pulled the 18 newest Google reviews for NS ELECTRICAL. The numbers:
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Google rating | 4.8 stars (24 reviews) |
| Yelp rating | No page found |
| Pulled reviews analyzed | 18 (newest first) |
| Average of pulled reviews | 4.78 |
| Reviews in the last 90 days | 2 |
| Reviews in the last 365 days | 12 |
| Review sentiment | Net +25 (26 positive markers, 1 negative marker) |
| Review-topic mentions | 26 total, 26 positive, 0 negative |
The most-mentioned topics in the pulled reviews, by count: knowledgeable staff (4), easy to work with (3), responsiveness (3), reliable (3), communication (3), ceiling fan wiring (2), generator installation (2), fair deal (2), thoroughness (2), and electrical needs (2).
Two honest observations about this data. First, the sentiment is strong: 26 positive topic mentions against 1 negative, and the topics cluster around competence and communication rather than one-off praise. Second, the base is small: 24 Google reviews total, no Yelp presence, and only 2 reviews in the last 90 days. A 4.8 rating on 24 reviews is a good sign, but it is not the same depth of evidence as a 4.8 on 200 reviews. Both numbers are stated as found.
Best In MoCo does not quote individual reviews in its guides. The counts above are the data; what individual customers wrote is available on the review platforms themselves.
BBB Record
No BBB profile was found for NS ELECTRICAL. That is the whole story: there is no BBB rating and no BBB complaint record to check, so the BBB neither helps nor hurts here. The absence of a profile is not a complaint and not a warning sign — it just means the company has no listing with the Bureau.
Company Background
NS ELECTRICAL is a family-owned electrical contractor in Conroe, Texas, reporting about 17 years in business. The business address is 11340 Paddocks Rd, Conroe, TX 77306, and the phone number on its TDLR record is (281) 806-6683. The company's public materials position it as a generator specialist — a certified Generac and Kohler dealer — alongside general residential and commercial electrical work including panels, EV chargers, and lighting.
How Best In MoCo Scored NS ELECTRICAL
MoCoScore is Best In MoCo's 100-point ranking system. NS ELECTRICAL earned 79.6 points:
| Category | Weight | NS ELECTRICAL earned |
|---|---|---|
| Satisfaction (rating) | 20 | 19.2 |
| Confidence (review volume) | 15 | 7.8 |
| Sentiment (review language) | 15 | 14.6 |
| Consistency | 10 | 8.0 |
| Longevity | 10 | 8.0 |
| Recency | 10 | 5.0 |
| Complaint/Risk | 10 | 10.0 |
| Local presence | 5 | 2.0 |
| Verification (license) | 5 | 5.0 |
| Total | 100 | 79.6 |
The score is driven by near-perfect satisfaction (4.8 stars), the highest sentiment score among the Panorama Village finalists (14.6 of 15), full marks on complaint history (a clean record) and license verification (Active TDLR). The lowest sub-scores are Confidence and Recency: 24 Google reviews is a small base and only 2 of them are from the last 90 days, so the scoring treats the record as positive but thin. Local presence scored 2 of 5 because the company operates from a single Conroe location rather than multiple storefronts.
How NS ELECTRICAL Compares in Panorama Village
Best In MoCo's Panorama Village electricians ranking scored 21 businesses. The top three: NS ELECTRICAL (79.6), Bell Electrical Construction (79.0), and Amplified Electric LLC (78.6). The gap between first and third is 1.0 point — a very tight cluster at the top.
NS ELECTRICAL's differentiators in the data are its review sentiment (14.6 of 15, the highest of the three finalists) and its generator specialty with dual Generac and Kohler dealer certification. Its relative weaknesses in the scoring are review-volume confidence and recency, where the other two finalists brought larger review bases to the table.
Best Fit
NS ELECTRICAL is a strong fit for homeowners in the Conroe and Panorama Village area who want generator work — installation or service — from a certified Generac and Kohler dealer, or general electrical work like panels, EV chargers, and lighting from a small family-owned shop with a clean record and directly verified license. The honest limitation: the public review record is thin (24 Google reviews, no Yelp page), so a homeowner who wants a deep review history to read through will find less here than with larger shops.

Before You Hire Any Electrician
Best In MoCo recommends the same checks for every contractor, including the businesses in its guides:
- Verify the TDLR license yourself at tdlr.texas.gov — confirm the status is Active and the expiration date is in the future.
- Get a written estimate before work begins, with the scope and price stated plainly.
- Confirm the company carries liability insurance; ask for proof if the job is large.
- Check the review platforms for recent reviews — not just the star average — especially when the review base is small.
- For panel upgrades, generator installs, or EV chargers, confirm the company handles permit procurement with your city, since requirements vary by jurisdiction.
